We are honored to have been invited to join in the 2013 Aquidneck Island National Police Parade Committee saluting Law Enforcement.
This will be the parade’s 30th anniversary, and this year’s Grand Marshal is U.S. Marshal Jamie A. Hainsworth.
Information about the U.S. Marshal service can be found at the U.S. Marshals website.
The event, drawing a crowd of about 70,000 spectators, lining the sidewalks and lawns to watch, over 4,000 participants commemorate National Police Week. This event is one of only a handful of parades of this type around the country outside of Washington D.C. This multi division parade includes 180 units representing over 50 police departments from as far away as Illinois as well as contingents from the Canadian Royal Mounted Police and the elite US Marine Corp 8th & I Marching Unit from Washington D.C. assigned to the President of the United States.
More information on the parade can be found at http://www.policeparade.org/.
Would you like to join us?
We will be leaving HQ at 9:45. We can caravan to Newport or you can meet us there if that is more convenient for you. Parking is available at Middletown High school. The streets will close at 11:00 so make sure you are there before that. There will be a shuttle bus to bring you to the start of the parade and again at the end of the parade back to your car.
